The Atlanta Dairies plant on Memorial Drive in Reynoldstown is slated to be redeveloped by Atlanta based developer, Brand Properties, who is in the process of rezoning the 9-acre project to contain a mix of commercial and residential.

Local developer, Flow Metro, has two parcels of land under contract on Englewood, just west of Boulevard with a northern border which runs right along the proposed Beltline. This 10 acre piece of land is currently occupied by out-dated industrial buildings.

WABE (90.1 FM) announced that starting on Thursday, September 13th on NPR’s “Morning Edition” they will air a seven part, in depth series on the Atlanta Beltline.

Last September, we spoke a bit about the Gwinnett County developer, Wayne Mason, who took his ball (a 70 acre piece of proposed Beltline property) and went home. The Atlanta City Council, last week, approved a bond sale that would raise $28 million in funding for the proposed Beltline. There are still many hurdles before this bond sale, as well as the Beltline project itself can come to fruition.

As the two sides (Mayor Franklin & Wayne Mason) exchanged blows nothing much was really settled. Mayor Franklin seems to think that The Beltline can proceed without Mason’s 5 mile stretch. Wayne Mason thinks otherwise.
