10 Terminus Place

Cousins Properties spared no expense on the art and other amenities at 10 Terminus Place. The building’s collection has around 30 pieces of sculptures, photos, and paintings from mostly local artists. I have not been in a condominium with such tasteful and elegant art. And with that art, comes Terminus. The name itself is historical (besides being a Roman god) as it was the first true name of our fair city, Atlanta. They have not disappointed in the overall aspect of the building. Sleek, yet warm, this building rocks (if it can get the quirks out…)

I will tell you I thought I might not be able to actually get up in the building. The elevators are causing a bit of an issue with the sales folks and I was going to be sorely disappointed and embarrassed for Terminus if I could not write a post on them, but alas, Rita, my tour guide got us in. Let me quickly back up and tell you that as you walk in and meet the concierge, you are greeted(at least yesterday) by a broken water fall thingy, bright marble floors and dark furniture, but when you go into the elevator area, the walls are covered in massive panels of dark wood which does not spell c-h-e-e-s-y, but c-l-a-s-s-y.

There are 137 homes with 10 to a floor. The homes start on the 14th floor and go up to the 32nd floor. There are also 28 different floor plans, so this is not cookie cutter condo. The one condo I went in was one of the most expensive at 1.1 million dollars. It was 3 bedroom/3 bathroom 2800 sq ft (much bigger than my home) condo. I will say it was impressive. The kitchen is open and expands to both sides of the common area and the massive range boasts a dual fuel system that allows gas burners and an electric oven. All three bedrooms have their own bath and the master bedroom and bathroom is huge with two pooper rooms! which I will elaborate on for a second.

It is rare that I walk into a pooper room as I like to call them and find such an upgraded toilet. This toilet is something out of the future. Not only is it energy efficient, it cleans (with oscillating or pulsating water) your “rear” or “front.” Had I had the time or understood the directions, I would have tried it. Point being for this model and others I am sure, is that they have gone over the top for Buckhead lovers.

The amenity level(14th floor) is really nice. The art work again is fantastic, the club room has a modern yet rich Colorado lodge feel. The pool (not as big as Viewpoint’s!) is salt water and there is a whirpool for your enjoyment. There are large cedar planks that cover most of the outside amenity level and gives it a private feeling -and of course there are huge fireplaces and grills to make it feel like home… The media room is large and will have a game area as well as a movie viewing area. While on this level, I was fortunate enough to meet the very first resident (a nice older woman from Hawaii) and she said Terminus was “fabulous.”

The view from Terminus (”where Buckhead begins”) is different from most of Midtown’s view as you are indeed looking at many buildings close up-even on the 30th floor. It certainly has a city feel and of course there are restaurants, shops, and stuff all around you - except no one seems to want to walk in Buckhead. But hopefully that will change. I enjoyed my tour here and think it is an excellent property built by Cousins. I have no doubt the kinks will be worked out. They have sold about 30% of the building. The condos start at the mid 350K range and go (only one) to the 3.6million dollar range.
