I will be honest and tell you I did not dress up to go into the W - knowing full well I would have to wear a hard hat. Yet, I decided to wait (namely because I failed to make an appointment and I want to see it closer to finishing time) to actually go up in the building. I will say though, that I do not need to wait to know how incredible the W Hotel and Residenceswill be when it is complete. The developers have created a space that is crisp, cool, fresh, and fabulous. It has a very rich feeling, but not intimidating - it is very comfortable. I almost swooned at the standard features the residences have. Well, swooning is an exaggerated term, but I did salivate at the Gaggenau appliances in the kitchen (including -gasp- an amazing gas burner.) But as usual, I digress.

The one bedrooms start at 399K and go up. The two bedroom I went in - obviously the model - was $675K and worth almost every penny. Of course, as a Realtor in this market, I want to see incredible deals even with top notch places, but the 1400 square foot condo was very nice. The standard marble counter-tops in the kitchen are just the beginning. You also have your own wine cooler, amazing fridge, (I know I just said “amazing fridge” but it is, I swear!) open living space, huge bedrooms, and sexy bathrooms.

If you are lucky enough to buy one of the 76 residences here, you have all the amenities that the hotel guests would have, including 24 hour concierge, 24 hour room service from BLT Steak that will be the site’s sweet restaurant, the Bliss Spa, the Sweat Fitness Center, and my favorite - the infinity pool. Billed as the only infinity pool in Atlanta, I can’t wait to go take pictures of it and possibly drink my Mojito at the pool bar. There is more, but I think I have stated the best - oh except that if you happen to own a helicopter, you can land it on the only residential helipad in the southeast. That’s right- on top of the W.

I’ll be glad to show you fanciful readers this place anytime you like! I think this is just the beginning of what will be a true new downtown for Atlanta. The entire development of Allen Plaza will be another post very soon, but this part of town is going to be swinging. I have no doubt. It may take a few years, but Atlanta’s Downtown now has a W for goodness sake. That is a major start.
