New Restaurant On The West Side

I drove over to the West Side today because friends of mine, Kristen and Michael Benoit of The Vortex Bar and Grill fame are opening up a fabulous new Mexican Restaurant called the Bone Garden Cantina. Touted as an authentic Mexican eatery, the restaurant is inside the Lumber Yard Complex off of Ellsworth Industrial Blvd. The full service restaurant will serve tamales, sopas, enchiladas, an array of salads, and so so much more.
The “Day of the Dead” theme is festive and pretty darn amazing. I can’t even explain it, but basically there are life size skeleton statues, huge paintings and murals on the walls, and a fabulous star on the ceiling above. My bad description does not give it justice, but I am telling you, the art work (a lot done by Michael himself) is pretty fantastic. (Picture below of the huge mural above the bar.)
This isn’t the only restaurant on the West Side area, but it is certainly going to be a great destination for people looking for something different. I’d love for people to comment on other restaurants the West Side has to offer -like the West Egg. The West Side as I have said before is growing and The Bone Garden will be the new place to go for really good inexpensive Mexican food and margaritas in Atlanta. (Opening June 3rd - for lunch and dinner)

One amazing restaurant that was not mentioned is spoon thai cafe on Marietta Street just south of Northside drive. Everyone should check it out! Best thai in atlanta!

We went last night and the food and drinks were good and definitely cheap. Our server got us in and out very quickly as we had a play to see. I hear it’s getting PACKED after hours. It’s definitely a quirky out of the way place that we’ll definitely be going back too. They need one of these over in the two story space that’s soon to be vacated by the AZ2 sales office.
