Who Recycles?

So, I am on an obsessive hunt to see what condominium/loft complex in Atlanta actually recycles. I have done quite a few posts on new construction lately ( I won’t name names), and not one of them recycles. Now, I know for a fact that the City of Atlanta is not going to pick up recycling bins from each door, but I will tell you that at the very least, these condos should have a place on the ground floor for residents to be able to recycle their plastic, aluminum, glass, and paper. I think at this point, we should all recycle - or at the very least, have the opportunity to recycle. I mean, have you seen the landfill off of Moreland? Good grief.

Therefore, I ask you to let your condo association and the City of Atlanta services know that you want the option to be able to recycle. If their are condos and lofts out there who do this, send me an email and I will let people know!

Oldfield at Grant Park has a recycling program that is included in the dues for all residents. Every wednesday a service comes door to door and will pick up all recyclable materials that are placed at the end of the driveway. The community is made up of 96 condos and is right off grant park (built around 2005).

The Realm in Buckhead recycles. From our meetings I hear we are doing a great job. From personal experience, the bins are emptied regularly and are filled quite quickly.

On a side note, I saw a condo in Miami that has a trash chute that lets you select what garbage you are dumping so that it sorts it for you to recycle. That building was built in 2002 so it’s a little upsetting that more buildings here don’t make that kind of effort.
