The Art of Studioplex

Photobucket Built in 1906, this amazing warehouse was the first brick building in the city to be fireproof. Its walls housed cotton before the cotton was bagged (probably down the road in Cabbagetown.) Now, Studioplex is the quintessential live/work /urban loft space.

For years now, many of us who live in the city have watched this 9 acre development grow and become a haven for artists and small businesses, but now, the area in which it is located has finally caught up to it and you feel like you belong here if you love historic Atlanta.

Situated dead center in Old Fourth Ward, there are restaurants, shops, and studios emerging each day and this is the place to live if you are looking for a true loft space. This quote sums it best: “Ideally, all the elements of work and life would be morphed to your pace, your schedule, and your rules.” Walking around, you feel the quiet resurrection of the city and of the ideals that city dwellers love - all right there in Studioplex.  You can live and work in your own very comfortable space and you can walk just about anywhere you want.StudioPlex006

I toured the complex with Brenda, a very knowledgeable Sales Rep for Studioplex, and quite frankly, was ready to buy one myself when I walked out. I will be honest and tell you I can’t do it justice if I write too much about it, so I just have to hope you go to their website and find out more for yourself. The prices are extremely reasonable (remember, this really is for people who want to live in the city and the developers have refused to jack the prices too high) and the floor plans are open, spacious, and very lofty. I mean, the exposed brick, metal, and old wooden beams are to die for. I would love to see a pool here - the HOA fees may go up, but it would be a nice addition.

Starting in the $160’s, I walked into 3 different ones and all were under $230K. Oh, I also forgot to tell you that the second Wednesday of every month, they have an Art Crawl from 6-8pm. I will be at the next one!StudioPlex009
