Who says I can’t write about townhomes instead of lofts and condos in Atlanta? I have found some close to the Edgewood Shopping Center where I shop almost three times a day. For those of you who do not know about this area, the center is actually I think called the Caroline Street Shops, and these shops include Lowe’s, Target, Best Buy, Ross, Bed Bath and Beyond, Barnes and Noble, and Kroger as the big daddies, and some really nice small shops that sell everything from wine to shoes. There are also really good eateries there. I say eateries because they are not fast food, but not really snotty restaurants. These include Figo, RuSans, Moes, and my favorite, Five Guys Burgers to name a few. The Caroline Street “live, work, and play” community is done in such a tasteful way - maybe I will write about the living spaces on top of the shops next.

Anyway, I digress. Behind Lowes on a very quiet street are new townhomes that should be finished within the next month or two. The Marion Place Townhomes (website under construction) look really well done. They are brick, they do NOT look right at Lowe’s and there is a really good view of the downtown and midtown sky scrapers. I spoke with Leigh, a Realtor selling the units, and she told me more about them. They are 3 bedroom / 3.5 bathrooms and the 3rd bedroom is actually on the terrace level and can be used as an office if need be. Granite counter tops exist in the master bathroom and kitchen and of course there are Bosch appliances. They boast 10ft ceilings on the main level and have wide plank oak floors. I hope they will be a hit and looks like more will be built soon enough. The first phase contains (I think) ten townhomes. Go visit and hit the shops while you are at it. If you need a Starbucks Coffee, I think you can get that in at least three of the shops within 200 feet of each other.

Prices are $399,900 and the picture below is a look at street level of the view in the distance.
