Kirkwood Station - Live in a City Neighborhood

kirkwood1.JPG

Condos, lofts, and townhomes aren’t just in Mid-town, Buckhead, or Downtown.  Some reside in great urban neighborhoods in the city.   One such place in Kirkwood is the Kirkwood Station.  These fairly new townhomes tout themselves as being at the intersection of hip and historic…which I like, because it is true.  Once thought of as a suburb of Atlanta, Kirkwood was on the old streetcar system where residents could go “into the city” 3 times a day via streetcars.  Now, of course, Kirkwood, is thought of as a neighborhood extremely close to downtown (like 2 miles away) and is rich in history.

The great thing about Kirkwood Station, is that it is on Hosea Williams in an area of true growth and new economy.  Within Kirkwood Station, there are shops such as the Mission Motif, Gitche’ Yah-Yah, and the newest restaurant in Kirkwood, Vinocity.  You can walk, ride your bike on the great bike lanes on Hosea, or drive to this area.  The community here is friendly, and I hope Kirkwood Station does well as it is in the center of a bustling area.   Go visit and enjoy the wine at Vinocity while you are at it!
