Since I am having a hard time thinking about what to write about next, I figured I would send out a message to the millions of people who check this blog :) Therefore, I am asking you to comment, write me an e-mail, send me pictures, whatever it is you would like to do - and let me know what condo and/or loft I should highlight in my next post. I will wait patiently for your comments or e-mails and hope that you will write!

you should write about pet-friendly communities, maybe condos within walking distance to parks, trails, kennels and pet supply stores. in my neighborhood there are several condo/lofts going up and we have 2 pet service stores within walking distance and very close to freedom park (grinnel lofts, IPV lofts, etc…)

I recently saw the Arizona Lofts project off Dekalb Ave. and was impressed with its unique reuse of an industrial building. The original loft concept was genius design to me. I’m not very familiar with feng shui, but the design of the interior corridor that was cut out of the roof created a nicely maturing interior garden with water features and 20 ft trees. The salt water pool was nice, but what caught me was the dog park with doggie cabana’s adjacent to the pool so that my golden Charlie could hang out within eyeshot while I relaxed in the sun. The gravity water massage pipes were a thoughtful touch as well.
The phase two was nearing completion and from the developers’ ideas it looks to be unique in its design and value. There are few condo/lofts in the vast number of units available that are truly unique in design, function, and value. I think this project is a shining star amongst a lot of average product out there.
Ashley, I’d love to see a review of AZ2.
Thanks for all your reviews.

Only a short drive from Atlanta, the historic Porterdale Mill Loft complex is one of a kind!

AZ2 is fine. I love our unit and it’s view, but the complex as a whole has just been a let down. The pet amenities are nice, but it’s a dog park and I’ve seen those at other lofts/condos as well, though it was what helped sell me originally. Frankly there are too many “renters” in the building and it looks like the cap, 25 percent is being met WELL before the actual number of owners comes close. They were 100 percent “sold” months before we finally closed, we bought a year out, and people dropped out left and right. Three were five units available and now it looks like five more are up for sale again. What really makes me pause now is the fact that we offered 409K for a unit that presold at 399K and now I believe is listed at 391K. The developers really aren’t my favorite people at this point, they also hold 10 of the units for rent, so to be honest, if we knew now what we knew then… We would have looked elsewhere.

Thanks for letting us know, Lance. I appreciate your comments. Hate that there are that many for rent……

My pleasure Ashley. I’m sure my “review” might not help the resale of our unit, we’ll probably be selling in the spring/summer if we just don’t find ourselves falling in love with the place when it’s warm and the great pool open agains. It’s really a shame too as I watched the building going up every weekend. Heck it was almost like giving birth… Almost.
If anyone finds any modern townhomes, lord not the NeoTerra (love those views though), that are truly unique and in the area, I’m sorry I don’t want to live in midtown, please shoot me a line. There has got to be the perfect place for my partner and our pets out there somewhere.

I thought I should give my two cents since I am on the HOA board at the Arizona Lofts. Yes, in the beginning before the community was turned over to the association in March 2008, the rentals were getting out of hand. However, since the board has been in place we have really been cracking down on the owners who are renting their units without permission. We are at our 25% cap for both buildings and we will continue to keep this as our top priority.

Check out Triumph Lofts next to The Depot on Memorial Dr. Very unique- fabulous pool, pet friendly, right on the future site of the Beltline. My partner and I love it! Wag-A-Lot is across the street- They give huge discounts to Triumph Loft owners.
