Strolling in Castleberry Hill

I decided to take a little stroll in Castleberry Hill today with my dog, Brutus, to get ready for the Loft Tour in October as well as the 4th Friday Art Stroll on September 28th. If you have not done the art stroll, I must tell you it is really cool. Of course, I am not sure I am cool enough, but alas, I have done it. Atlanta’s art district, as far as I am concerned, is in Castleberry Hill. You won’t believe the number of galleries amongst the lofts in this area. It is great. So today, Brutus and I did not do the whole “stroll,” but instead stuck to a bit of a circle going from Peters Street to right on Haynes then left on Walker, and then back left on Peters Street. The Art Stroll is much bigger and many more streets are involved. In fact, Castleberry Neighborhood Association is kind enough to tell individuals what galleries, businesses, and restaurants are involved in the stroll.
Our stroll today took us by the GE Lofts, No Mas Restaurant, Wasabi Sushi, and then to the Fair and Walker Lofts. I got hungry for sushi after passing Wasabi, but I had a dog with me. We walked past old and new barbershops, many many galleries, and great clothing shops. We then walked by Noir, a bar that is way too hip and fabulous for me. Although Slice across the street, is a bit more casual. Point being, Castleberry Hill is for everyone. There are sexy restaurants and bars - then laid back coffee shops right next door. The whole area is truly unique and Atlanta is a bit more trendy because of it. Castleberry Hill exists because of the lofts, but it thrives because of the galleries, small businesses, and a wonderful eclectic group of people who live, work, and play there. So, go and enjoy!
Oh, and this is Brutus - I can’t help myself - I had to put him on the blog. Can anyone tell me where he is in this picture? (No, it has nothing to do with lofts and condos.)

I can see Batman, Superman and a few other super heroes behind him. What did the Superfriends call their HQ? Wasn’t it the Hall of Justice? Maybe it was the Justice League… I’m just not sure.
Are you guys there?

Close, Knox…but other people who passed Brutus were Harry Potter and Darth Vader.
