The Beltline, a proposed inner city light rail system using unused railroad tracks, is one of the most exciting potential developments in Atlanta. If it comes to fruition it will significantly alter Atlanta for the better. While much has been written on the Beltline and the Beltline Partnership has a terrific website, Knox and I thought it would be a great idea to provide information on how this will affect lofts and condos in Atlanta. For the developments that are near the line and the stops, it will mean added green space, a convenient way to get around in town, recreational paths for walking, jogging, biking, and rollerblading, and also increased property values. Some of the nicer and newer apartment buildings near the Beltline will probably be converted into condos eventually, and there will certainly be new developments. The path of the Beltline takes it through some of the most desirable parts of town, but also other areas that have seen years of stagnation. With the added parks that are to be associated with the Beltline and the increasing popularity of more dense urban living, it is likely that whole new neighborhoods of high quality condos will go up. All very excting stuff!
