Big News For The Beltline

The last two weeks have been busy for anyone involved with The Beltline Partnership. The 22 mile loop of historic rail lines will pass through 45 intown communities and greatly bolster growth, development and mobility. However, the Beltline won’t become a reality until 3 governing bodies give it their approval. On November 7th the Beltline passed the first approval process as the Atlanta City Council voted 12-3 to approve the Beltline TAD. Now that the first hurdle has been overcome, the next steps are approval for the Beltline Tax Allocation District (TAD) from the Atlanta Public School Board and Fulton County Commission. On November 16th legislation was introduced by Fulton County Commission Chairwoman Karen Handel at the Fulton County Commission.
